Take the Inner Critic Quiz

Find out which critic is loudest in your sparky brain, and what to do when she starts talking.

You can’t switch her off.
You can stop taking her orders.

When you have a sparky brain, your Inner Critic has plenty of material to work with. Years of masking, a business path that’s zigzagged, loads of brilliant ideas that didn’t quite get finished, feedback about being both too much and somehow not enough at the same time.... She’s collected all of it, and is exceptionally good at quoting it back to you at exactly the wrong moment.

She turns up when you’re about to raise your prices, send the proposal, say no, or hit publish. And because your sensitivity and quick brain means her commentary is fast and thorough, it’s hard to remember that these are just thoughts, not absolute truths.

You don’t need to fight her, silence her, or win the argument. You just need to recognise her voice quickly enough so you can stop her influence over your choices, decisions, and actions.

That starts with knowing who she is.

Meet the five Inner Critics

Most of us have all five. But one is usually loudest.

“Let's be honest you really don't know what you're doing here, do you?...”

"Yep, not too bad I suppose, but have you seen what SHE is doing??”

“You don't have time to take a break for god's sake, there's so much to do!"

“There is no way that’s good enough, start again right now!"

“You can't do that, how ridiculous, what will everyone think?!"
