Be supported, challenged, and inspired by like-minded women
Step back to see the big picture and map your confident next chapter
Whether you're wrestling with a new idea, refining your strategy, or recalibrating your business to fit YOU, this retreat creates space for breakthroughs - and ensures you leave with a plan you feel excited about.
Hi! I’m your retreat host
I'm Angela Raspass, a Business Strategist and Self-Leadership Mentor, and I've been hosting retreats for over a decade because I know that magic happens when you physically remove yourself from the daily noise and give yourself time and room to pause, think, discuss, and plan.
I grew up on a farm in New Zealand, and that pull towards the countryside has never left me. It's why I whisk women away to Kangaroo Valley rather than booking a conference room in the city. You and your ideas need S P A C E to expand!
What I bring to the retreat is a blend of sharp business strategy and genuine self-leadership work, because in over 22 years of working with businesswomen, I've noticed that self-trust, the inner authority to back yourself and take action, is the vital sidekick to good strategy.
The retreat is designed for all women with a service based business, but if you happen to have a fast-moving, idea-generating, hard-to-contain sparky brain, you'll find the structure particularly suits you. The flexibility and spaciousness, and the opportunity to verbally process your ideas with me and your fellow retreaters that’s built into the rhythm is no accident - I also have a resident sparky brain, so I know what we need!
Who is this Business Retreat for?
This 3-day retreat is designed for businesswomen who crave dedicated time and space to step back, think strategically, and reconnect with their vision - away from the relentless demands of daily business.
These are some of the most common reasons women join me in Kangaroo Valley - you might recognise yourself in one or more:
The "I'm Too Busy Running My Business to Think About My Business" Reality
You're caught in the delivery cycle - back-to-back clients, deadlines, emails, decisions. There's no time to lift your head and look ahead. You know you need to plan, strategize, and make some important decisions about your business direction, but you can't carve out focused time at home or in the office. You need to physically extract yourself from the busyness to create the mental and physical space for strategic thinking.
The "I Need to Reflect on What’s Happened and Make a New Plan for the Next Thing" Focus
You're approaching a new year, a new quarter, or a significant milestone, and you want to reflect on what's working, what's not, and what needs to change. You want dedicated time to review your progress, celebrate your wins, learn from your challenges, and create a grounded, strategic plan for what's next - not just a rushed to-do list created in stolen moments between other obligations.
The "I'm Carrying Too Much Alone" Isolation
You're the only one in your business who truly understands what you're building and the weight of the decisions you're making. Your partner, friends, and family are supportive, but they don't get it. You're craving connection with other businesswomen who understand the journey - women who can offer fresh perspectives, challenge, stretch, and applaud your thinking, and remind you that you're not alone in this.
The "I Have Big Ideas But No Space to Develop Them" Frustration
Your mind is full of possibilities - a new offer, a pivot, a book, a program, a repositioning - but these ideas stay stuck in your head because there's never enough uninterrupted time to develop them properly. You need concentrated focus without the constant interruptions of daily business to turn these ideas from vague concepts into concrete, actionable plans.
The "I Need Deep Work AND Deep Rest" Exhaustion
You're running on empty, and another intensive workshop or information-heavy conference will tip you over the edge. You need strategic focus AND breathing room. You want to work on your business in a way that energises rather than depletes you, surrounded by nature, good food, and women who get it - where thinking deeply and resting deeply are equally valued.
The "I Want an Outside Perspective on My Business" Clarity
You're too close to your business to see it objectively. You've been circling the same questions, making the same assumptions, seeing the same options. You need someone with fresh eyes and business expertise to help you see what you're missing, spot opportunities you've overlooked, and challenge the patterns keeping you stuck.
What all these scenarios share:
You're a service-based business owner, consultant, coach, or practitioner with experience & expertise
You value quality over quantity - small group, high-touch experiences
You're ready to invest in strategic development, not just tactical doing
You need both structure AND spaciousness to do your best thinking
You want genuine connection with like-minded businesswomen
You understand that stepping away is how you move forward
If this is resonating, the Strategic Hearth Business retreat could be exactly what you need.
What makes the Strategic Hearth business retreat different?
This isn't about rigid schedules, formulaic business plans, or information overload. It's an experience that offers connection, discussion, space and planning.
Small Group, High-Touch Experience
The maximum of 5 participants means everyone receives personalised strategic attention. You're not lost in a crowd or competing for airtime. I work with each woman individually on her specific business challenge while the group benefits from the collective wisdom and cross-pollination of ideas.
Your Focus Project
You bring your most pressing challenge or opportunity - whether that's a new offer, a pivot, a positioning shift, or your strategic plan. We create real progress on YOUR priority, not a generic template that may or may not fit your business.
Strategy + Self-Leadership Integration
The best business strategy in the world won't work if you don't trust yourself to follow through. We strengthen both your strategic clarity AND your inner capacity to execute confidently. This integration of external strategy and internal authority is what creates sustainable momentum.
Deep Work AND Deep Rest
This retreat balances focused strategic sessions with genuine spaciousness. Your best ideas emerge when you have room to breathe. Beautiful countryside, nourishing food, your own private room and ensuite - we honour the fact that rest is as productive as brainstorming!
Mastermind Magic
The collective smarts of fellow businesswomen from diverse industries is always extraordinary. You'll gain perspectives and insights you'd never access working alone. Past participants have forged lasting friendships and ongoing support networks that extend well beyond the retreat.
Thoughtfully Designed
No overwhelming to-do lists or rigid hour-by-hour schedules. The retreat rhythm balances focused strategic work with genuine spaciousness, movement breaks, and the kind of thinking time that allows insights to emerge naturally.
Note for sparky-brained participants: If you're an ADHDer like me, you'll find the retreat design especially accommodating - with flexibility built in, regular movement breaks, and no expectation that everyone thinks or works the same way.

"I hadn't been to a business retreat in years, but I knew I had lots of ideas, that I wasn't quite on the right path and that I needed space to get clarity.
I originally came thinking I'd work on a particular project, but Angela gave me the bigger picture and helped me to see how to fit all the pieces together before going into the nitty-gritty.
I loved the mastermind sessions too - everyone had such different backgrounds, but we could all help each other.
Working with Angela means there’s no judgment; rather, it was like having a light shone on my business - 'Have you thought of this? She invited me to give my time and energy to the things that most mattered. It was a fantastic experience!”
The Retreat Experience:
ARRIVAL DAY (Tuesday Afternoon/Evening):
Check-in from 4.00 pm - settle into your private room with ensuite
Welcome gathering and intention-setting: What are you here to work on?
Dinner together (sometimes at a local restaurant, sometimes in-house)
STRATEGIC WORK DAYS (Wednesday & Thursday):
Each day blends focused work, learning, rest, and connection:
Morning:
Morning walk and breakfast
Group mastermind and check-ins - sharing progress, challenges, insights
A Learning session - the topic varies by retreat: Enneagram, journaling practices, strategic frameworks, AI tools, sales conversations etc
Midday - Afternoon:
Dedicated project work time - claim your space and dive deep into YOUR priority
Your 1:1 strategic session with Angela (60-90 minutes) - scheduled throughout the retreat based on your needs
Angela available throughout - "grab me anytime" for brainstorming, questions, strategic thinking
Optional massage sessions (when available)
Nourishing lunches provided
Evening:
Group dinners (mix of in-house and local restaurants)
Optional activities: self-discovery games, rich conversations, genuine connection time
Space to integrate, reflect, and rest
DEPARTURE DAY (Friday Morning):
Planning Snapshot session - distilling insights into your 90-day action plan
Group sharing: commitments, next steps, accountability
11am checkout
The Rhythm: This isn't a rigid schedule. Sessions flow naturally, and you work at your own pace during project time. Some retreats include guest facilitators, some focus more heavily on masterminding, some lean into deeper self-leadership work - I create an agenda that is unique to each retreat based on the backgrounds, needs, and priorities of each group.
What remains constant: strategic focus, genuine spaciousness, nourishing food, and time in the countryside to think, create, and connect.
What you’ll gain at a Business Retreat
Clarity That Saves You Months:
Become clear on what truly matters and how to move forward. I'll help you see the big picture while pinpointing the essential details - simplifying your whole business into frameworks that work. You'll transform from scattered to focused, from complex to clear. What takes months alone often happens in hours when you're here.
Confidence Through Connection:
Learn Self-leadership tools to shift from the need for external validation to the power of inner authority, strengthened by the mastermind magic of women from different backgrounds and seasons who understand your journey. You'll step out of solo business isolation into genuine connection and cross-pollination of ideas that enrich your thinking. Plus, you'll rediscover what you have to offer when you see yourself through others' eyes.
Momentum With Breathing Room:
Walk away with a practical plan and the energy to bring it to life. But unlike other retreats, you'll have spaciousness woven throughout - physically and mentally. The intentional balance of focused work, group collaboration, and white space means breakthroughs emerge naturally, not forcefully. You'll leave energised, not exhausted.

"I decided to invest in coming to a business retreat because I knew I needed to extract myself from the busyness and the heaviness at home to think clearly.
I’m so glad I did.
Being in a group with other women in different seasons of life and business was also wonderfully helpful and affirming - it made me feel less alone in this business journey.
Spending time with Angela has been such a joy. In addition to her strategic mind, her gentleness, deep wisdom, and care meant that learning from her wisdom felt like a rare gift. I came with what seemed like business scrambled eggs, and she helped me separate them into different elements and pinpoint what needed the most attention”.
Shan Withnell
Clinical Hypnotherapist
"I arrived at the retreat hoping to have my offer crystallised and written, and looking forward to some space. And what happened? Far more than I anticipated!
First of all, in my strategy time with Angela, she simplified everything - my whole business. Her ability to look at what I was trying to do and put it into simple language and a simple framework is going to save my life. Essentially, she turned my scribble into a metro map – and it’s easy to plan your trip when you've got a map with the stops. I feel so more confident and clear now.
The mastermind sessions brought genuine connection and cross-pollination of ideas. Different people's backgrounds and expertise brought their perspectives to what I was doing, deepening my understanding. Angela curated an atmosphere that's friendly and fun, where everyone mucks in together”.
I'm Angela Raspass
I’m a Business Strategist and Self-leadership Mentor, and I’ve been hosting retreats for over a decade because I know first-hand how powerful it is to step away from the noise and recalibrate, especially in the countryside (that’s the influence of my kiwi farm-girl childhood).
As someone with a sparky brain, I deeply understand the frustration of having endless ideas but struggling to turn them into traction. That’s one of the reasons why I’m passionate about creating spaces where fast-thinking, purpose-driven action takers can pause to gain clarity, confidence, and momentum through strategy, self-leadership, and the time to reconnect with what truly matters.
If you’re ready to unlock new possibilities for your next chapter in business in a way that works for you, I’d love you to join us.

"I needed to be away from the day-to-day, so I could think and plan what my next business steps should be.
I also met a group of fabulous, inspiring women who were so incredibly supportive and generous with their advice and insights.
I left the retreat feeling energised, with much more clarity about my audience and business model, along with an action plan for the next 3 months.
I highly recommend taking the time away and investing in yourself. As leaders of our businesses, we need to put time into strategic thinking, and Angela is a wonderful support to help you get the outcomes you need to take your business forward”.

Both are perfectly valid reasons to attend!
Some women arrive with a specific project (new offer, book outline, business pivot, marketing plan). Others come needing space to simply think, reflect, and gain clarity on their direction.
During the pre-retreat process, we'll discuss your focus so I can prepare, but it's absolutely fine if your intention is "I need to step back and see my business from 30,000 feet" rather than "I'm working on X specific deliverable."
Sometimes the most valuable outcome is simply getting clear on what you need to work on - and that clarity IS the project.
-
Not at all - this retreat is designed with introverts in mind.
With only 5 participants maximum, it's intimate, not crowded. You have your own private room to retreat to whenever needed. The schedule balances group time with solo work time, and there's no pressure to be "on" constantly.
Many introverts find this retreat energising rather than draining because:
You're with like-minded businesswomen (not networking with strangers)
Conversation is substantive, not small talk
You have control over your participation level
Downtime and rest are built into the rhythm
-
You'll find the retreat especially accommodating!
As someone with ADHD myself (diagnosed at 53), I've designed the retreat structure to work WITH different thinking styles:
No rigid hour-by-hour schedule
Regular movement breaks
Flexibility to work at your own pace
Permission to move between spaces as needed
No expectation that everyone thinks or works the same way
That said, this retreat welcomes ALL established businesswomen - sparky-brained or not. The inclusive design benefits everyone.
-
This is totally normal - most participants arrive not knowing anyone!
Before the retreat, we either hold a pre-retreat group call where everyone introduces themselves and shares what they're working on. Or if everyones schedules make this too tricky, I simply circulate your background information (with your permission) that also highlights your project focus or intention for the retreat. the By the time you arrive, you already have a sense of who's in the group.
The small group size (maximum 5) means genuine connection happens naturally. Many past participants have formed lasting friendships and ongoing support networks that continue well beyond the retreat.
-
You have your own private room with ensuite bathroom. No room-sharing required.
Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed with everything you need for focused work and rest. You'll have privacy when you want it and communal spaces when you want connection.
The venue provides a peaceful, countryside setting that supports both deep work and deep rest.
-

Any personal snacks or drinks you love

Many business retreats fall into one of two camps:
Intensive workshops that leave you exhausted with information overload
Personal development experiences light on actual business strategy
The Strategic Hearth is different:
Small group (max 5) with personalised attention, not lost in a crowd of 30
Your priorities, not a prescribed curriculum everyone follows
Strategy + Self-Leadership integration, not just business tactics
Deep work AND deep rest, not relentless productivity
Genuine spaciousness, not every minute scheduled
You work on what matters to YOUR business with both strategic support and breathing room to let insights emerge naturally.
-
The retreat includes:
Your 90-day action plan created during the Planning Snapshot session
Connection with the other participants (many form ongoing support networks)
Optional ongoing support:
FuelTime coaching - flexible ongoing mentoring
